She holds a degree from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, with a Master’s in Biological Sciences (Biophysics) from the Carlos Chagas Filho Institute of Biophysics and a PhD in Biological Sciences (Biophysics with an emphasis on Molecular Biology) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). She completed her postdoctoral studies at UFRJ and was a visiting professor at the institution between 2006 and 2008. She worked as a senior visiting researcher at INCA between 2008 and 2011 and at Fiocruz between 2016 and 2019. She is currently an Adjunct Professor at the Fluminense Federal University (UFF), in the Department of Immunobiology, where she coordinates the Laboratory of Osteoimmunology and Tumoral Immunology (LOIT). Her research focuses on Tumoral Immunomodulation studies mediated by cells and/or molecules of Adaptive Immunity, with an emphasis on bone metastatic processes (Osteoimmunology). She is also interested in infectious or autoimmune diseases related to osteo-immune imbalance. She has experience in the areas of Biochemistry (Enzymology), Molecular and Cellular Biology, and Molecular and Cellular Immunology. She is currently a member of the Ethics Committee on Research at the Faculty of Medicine of UFF (CEP/FM/UFF) and vice-chair of the Department of Immunobiology (GIM)/Institute of Biology (EGB). She teaches the mandatory course Immunobiology for the Biomedicine course at UFF. She created and teaches two new elective courses: Tumoral Immunology and Osteoimmunology. She is accredited to the Oncobiology Program at UFRJ and to the Graduate Program in Immunology and Inflammation at UFRJ.
