She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences with a specialization in Pharmacology from UERJ (1992) and a Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology from FIOCRUZ/IOC (1998). Christianne completed her postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School (Boston) under the supervision of Professor Peter F. Weller (2002). Upon returning to Brazil, she was awarded a fellowship through the CNPq’s Doctor Retention Program (PROFIX).
In 2006, Christianne became an Assistant Professor and PROFIX-Phase 2 Researcher at the newly established Inflammation Laboratory at the Carlos Chagas Filho Institute of Biophysics (IBCCF) at UFRJ. She was awarded the JCNE (FAPERJ) fellowship twice, during which she was also granted funding as a coordinator under the FAPERJ Emerging Research Groups program. In 2008, she received a PQ2 research grant from CNPq, advanced to level 1D in 2013, and in 2015 earned her first prestigious CNE/FAPERJ title, which remains active.
She served as a Visiting Professor at Harvard Medical School (2016) and is currently an Associate Professor IV at UFRJ and a PQ1C researcher at CNPq. She was the Deputy Coordinator of the renowned Graduate Program in Biological Sciences – Biophysics at IBCCF/UFRJ (CAPES rating 7; from 2018 to 2022) and headed the Immunobiology Program (Department) at IBCCF/UFRJ (2021-2023).
Regarding the training of specialized personnel, she has supervised the completion of 11 master’s theses, 9 doctoral dissertations, and 1 postdoctoral research project (with a PDJ fellowship granted to the researcher).
Christianne has expertise in the field of Immunopharmacology, with an emphasis on Cellular Immunology. Her research group currently comprises 1 postdoctoral researcher (FAPERJ Nota 10 fellow), 2 Ph.D. students, 1 master’s student, and 4 undergraduate research students. Under her primary supervision, the group studies leukocyte activation mechanisms, with a focus on eosinophils. Their research investigates the synthesis and action of lipid mediators (notably PGD2 and resolvins), cytokine secretion, and organelle biogenesis. (Text provided by the author).
