She graduated in Microbiology and Immunology from UFRJ (2006), completed a master’s degree (2007) and a Ph.D. (2011) in Cellular and Molecular Biology at FIOCRUZ. She was a teacher at the CEDERJ Social Pre-University Program. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at FIOCRUZ in 2013, when she became a professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy at UFRJ. She is a permanent faculty member of the Graduate Program in Immunology and Inflammation and the Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences, and head of the Immunology Studies Laboratory at UFRJ. In 2016, she was appointed a Pew Latin American Fellow, conducting postdoctoral research at Rockefeller University. She has experience in the field of immunopharmacology, focusing on therapies for bacterial diseases, arboviral infections, and allergic pulmonary inflammations, with a special interest in understanding the humoral immune response to flaviviruses and MDR bacteria for the discovery of monoclonal antibodies. She is a member of the SBI, the Latin American and Caribbean Association for Immunology (ALACI), ALACI’s Women in Immunology, SBPC, and an academic editor for Frontiers in Immunology and Frontiers in Pharmacology. She is an affiliate member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, a Young Scientist of Our State (JCNE/FAPERJ), a Young Women Scientist (FAPERJ), and is the mother of Lucas.
