He holds a degree in Pharmacy from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2003), a Master’s degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (2006), a Second Master’s degree (2008) and a PhD (2010) in Biomedical Sciences – Department of Microbiology and Immunology – Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University. He was a Postdoc in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University (2010-2011) and in the Department of Immunology of the Paulo de Góes Institute of Microbiology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2011-2013). He is currently an Associate Professor of Mycology in the Department of Microbiology and Parasitology at the Fluminense Federal University. He has experience in the area of ​​Microbiology, with emphasis on Medical Microbiology, Medical Biochemistry, Immunology and Mycology, and is a specialist in the production and characterization of monoclonal antibodies, lectin-antibody fusion proteins, and chimeric proteins with vaccine and antimicrobial activity, used in the prophylaxis and therapy of infectious diseases. He is also a specialist in the characterization of several models of parasite-host interaction, origin and selection of microbial virulence factors and mechanisms of pathogenesis. He coordinates several scientific projects and is a Scientist of our State (FAPERJ) and a CNPq Productivity Scholar. He serves as a Latin American advisor to the Medical Mycology Society of Americas (MMSA) and reviewer of several national and international indexed scientific journals and funding agencies.
