Adjunct Professor at the Carlos Chagas Filho Institute of Biophysics (IBCCF) of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Young Scientist of Our State/FAPERJ. Graduated in Pharmacy from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2002), master in Parasitology from UFMG (2005) and PhD in Sciences (Microbiology) from the Institute of Microbiology Prof Paulo de Góes (IMPG) of UFRJ, with a “sandwich” period at the “University of Alabama at Birmingham” (UAB), Birmingham, AL – USA (2009). He completed postdoctoral studies in the Department of Medicine, Division of Rheumatology at UAB (2009-2012). He was a Young Talents scholarship holder of the CNPq Science without Borders Program by IMPG/UFRJ (2013-2014). He is responsible for the Lymphocyte Biology Laboratory at IBCCF, where he leads the B Lymphocyte Biology research group. He has experience in the area of ​​Immunology, with an emphasis on the study of B lymphocyte development and the ontogeny of the genetic repertoire and immunoglobulin reactivity. He has been developing studies on the role of evolutionarily conserved immunoglobulin genes in the generation of the antibody repertoire. He is accredited as a supervisor in the Postgraduate Program in Biological Sciences (Biophysics) at IBCCF and in the Postgraduate Program in Immunology and Inflammation at IMPG, UFRJ. The lines of research developed by his group involve the study of the dynamics of B lymphocyte subpopulations and the kinetics of the antibody response, with an emphasis on the characterization of the variability of Ig genes and the repertoire of specificities of antibodies generated in physiological, infectious and autoimmune processes.
