Célio Geraldo Freire de Lima

He holds a degree in Biological Sciences (1990), a Master’s degree in Parasitic Biology from the Oswaldo Cruz Institute-FIOCRUZ (1995), and a PhD in Sciences from the Paulo de Góes Institute of Microbiology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2000). He also holds a post-doctorate from the Immunopharmacology Laboratory of the Department of Physiology and Pharmacodynamics at the Oswaldo Cruz Institute (2000-2002) and from the Cell Biology Program at the National Jewish Medical and Research Center in Denver, Colorado, USA (2002-2004). He is currently an Associate Professor II of the Immunobiology Program at the Carlos Chagas Filho Institute of Biophysics at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He has experience in Immunology, with an emphasis on Cellular Immunology, Immunoparasitology, and Immunomodulation, working mainly on the following topics: Chagas disease, leishmaniasis, cryptococcosis, apoptosis, and inflammation.
