The UMC-CCS-UFRJ is a multi-user unit linked to the Department of Immunology of the Paulo de Góes Institute of Microbiology of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). It contains flow cytometry equipment, available for use by professors/researchers, students and technicians internal and external to UFRJ.

The UMC-CCS-UFRJ’s mission is to promote access to flow cytometry techniques, contribute to scientific and technological development, and train human resources specialized in flow cytometry. This objective meets the interests and needs of the Postgraduate Program in Immunology and Inflammation (PPG-II), whose professors and students use flow cytometry techniques to develop their research and improve student training. In addition, UMC-CCS-UFRJ also works to disseminate knowledge about cytometry techniques, through participation in technical and scientific courses and events, including those held by PPG-II.
